Education and education technology services provider Pearson, US, has announced that Texas State Board of Education has decided to make Pearson's Online Learning Exchange (OLE) programme available state-wide. Students in Texas' middle school and high school science classrooms can now expect to see their course materials leap into the digital age.
The state's move to all-digital science instructional materials will immediately impact Texas classrooms. With Texas school districts facing severe budget shortfalls, these new online instructional materials will be affordable and will let school districts fully realise the power of technology in their classrooms and enhance student learning.
Pearson's Online Learning Exchange is among the science programmes approved by the state for use in Texas schools beginning next month.
Developed by Pearson, OLE offers content intended to better prepare students for college and careers. From a television adventure series with episodes teaching students about physical science to podcasts and animations, educators who choose OLE for their classrooms can develop lessons best suited for their students' needs. The programme will provide access to quality content in one easy-to-find place, saving teachers precious time and energy. The wide range of science content, assessments, and activities will include lesson plans, presentation templates, videos, and interactive learning resources, which can be used in conjunction with all science programmes.
