Texas State University Libraries have successfully implemented the FOLIO library services platform (LSP) with support from EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO). The transition, completed in Fall 2024, marks a significant upgrade from the university’s previous library management system and discovery infrastructure, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and academic excellence.
The migration includes the adoption of several EBSCO SaaS solutions, such as EBSCO Discovery Service™ (EDS) for intuitive resource discovery, Locate for unified catalog management, and Panorama for centralized data reporting and analytics. These tools are fully integrated with FOLIO’s open-source platform, streamlining access to resources, enhancing research efficiency, and improving overall user experiences.
Texas State University Libraries, known for providing collaborative study spaces, advanced research tools, and rich cultural resources, view this transition as a step toward greater inclusivity and technological advancement. The move to FOLIO strengthens their ability to support cutting-edge research while optimizing library workflows and operations.
FOLIO continues to gain momentum as a leading choice for integrated library systems (ILS), fostering global collaboration among libraries, developers, and vendors. With more than 200 EBSCO-supported FOLIO implementations worldwide, spanning academic institutions, consortia, community colleges, and public libraries, the platform demonstrates its scalability and adaptability.
The transition positions Texas State University Libraries at the forefront of modern library management, leveraging FOLIO’s flexibility and EBSCO’s tools to support evolving research needs and enhance academic success.
