The American Medical Association (AMA) has signed an agreement with publishing solutions provider The Charlesworth Group, UK. Under the deal, The Charlesworth Group will serve as AMA's main agent for online and print marketing in mainland China.
The three-year, renewable relationship provides a comprehensive marketing plan and online, print, and low-cost print agreements with consortia, national buying agencies, and individual academic institutions. The combination of on the ground local expertise with US-based management and support will expand the exposure and sale of the AMA journals, particularly the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) as well as the nine specialty Archive Journals.
The AMA had enlisted The Charlesworth Group for several years on specific marketing and sales campaigns in China, including the successful low cost print subscription promotion and increased pricing strategy. This agreement follows from the benefits and successes of those campaigns.
The Charlesworth Group offers comprehensive typesetting, print and binding solutions to a diverse range of clients from world leading publishers and learned societies to commercial and not-for-profit organisations. The company's facility in China was originally formed to provide services which would complement those offered through Charlesworth in the UK. It currently offers a wide range of services tailored to meet the specific needs of STM publishers.
