The Company of Biologists launches perpetual journal archive with 34,000 articles -

The Company of Biologists has launched a fully accessible journal archive that provides institutions with perpetual access to more than 34,000 articles published between 1853 and 2004.

The archive covers the publisher’s three established journals — Development, Journal of Cell Science, and Journal of Experimental Biology. Together, these journals document more than a century of research in developmental biology, cell biology, comparative physiology, and biomechanics, including work from more than 60 Nobel Prize-winning researchers.

According to the publisher, in-house teams have worked in recent years to make the archive as complete and accessible as possible. Articles that were previously available only as PDFs have been converted into fully searchable HTML to improve content discovery, increase accessibility across devices, and support reference linking between articles. The archive also includes complete digital reproductions of original journal content, with DOIs registered for every article and usage metrics available throughout.

Institutions can purchase perpetual access to all three journals as a collection or acquire individual journal archives based on local requirements.
