The Company of Biologists has announced the renewal of its Read & Publish Open Access agreement with the Bibsam Consortium for an additional three years. The agreement, effective from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2027, continues to support Open Access publishing for researchers at participating institutions in Sweden.
The renewed partnership allows corresponding authors from these institutions to publish an unlimited number of research articles Open Access (OA) in The Company of Biologists’ hybrid journals—Development, Journal of Cell Science, and Journal of Experimental Biology—and fully Open Access journals—Disease Models & Mechanisms and Biology Open—without incurring article processing charges (APCs).
In addition to Open Access publishing benefits, researchers at participating institutions will enjoy unlimited access to The Company of Biologists’ hybrid journals, including their comprehensive archives dating back to 1853, fostering a rich resource for scholarly research and discovery.
This renewal underscores the commitment of both The Company of Biologists and the Bibsam Consortium to advancing Open Access publishing and ensuring equitable access to scholarly knowledge.
