The Company of Biologists has renewed the five-journal Read & Publish Open Access agreement with the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences for an additional three years. Secured with support from regional agent Charlesworth, the agreement covers January 2026 through December 2028 and is available to all 35 member institutions.
Corresponding authors at participating institutions in China can publish an uncapped number of research articles immediately Open Access in the publisher’s transformative journals—Development, Journal of Cell Science, and Journal of Experimental Biology—and fully Open Access journals—Disease Models & Mechanisms and Biology Open—without paying an article processing charge (APC). Researchers also receive unlimited access to all transformative journals, including full archives dating back to 1853.
CAAS has additionally signed a long-term preservation agreement to ensure permanent access to these core journals as part of the organization’s role under the National Digital Preservation Center. The renewed collaboration supports broad dissemination of agricultural and biological research without financial barriers and contributes to a sustainable academic innovation environment across participating institutions.
