At the beginning of 2022, the ongoing national agreement between MDPI and the Consortium of Swiss Academic Libraries (CSAL) was renewed through to the end of 2022.
The CSAL consortium is a strong proponent of open access internationally, working towards guaranteeing the quality and competitiveness of Switzerland as a university and research hub via a nationwide literature supply.

Authors affiliated with a participating university receive a 20% discount on the article processing charge (APC) for any paper published in an MDPI journal. With the agreement, MDPI intends to intensify collaboration with Swiss authors and help them benefit from publishing across its open-access journals.
