The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) has announced an exclusive deal with EDU&SUN, a leading provider of educational resources in China, to provide IET.tv content to potentially 25 million students at technical universities across the country. This is the first licensing agreement of its kind for this content by the IET, which is aiming to expand its presence in China as part of its global digital development.
The agreement will see EDU&SUN offer access to all IET.tv professional lecture content from late autumn 2012. The online resource connects users to lectures, seminars, conferences and webcasts from practising engineers, technologists and key industry speakers. The IET.tv video collection comprises over 3,500 presentations from 2002 to date, with 450-500 new videos added to the collection each year. They are arranged in eight technology channels including communications, electronics, manufacturing and power.
In the run up to the next academic year, EDU&SUN will set up the access portal through which it will offer IET.tv. This will be simple to use and ensure students and academics are able to access all videos quickly and easily. Those academics wishing to subscribe will be able to do so via EDU&SUN's website - http://www.bjadks.com/.
