AIP Publishing has been highlighted by the Initiative for Open Abstracts (I4OA) for its efforts to make its publications’ abstracts openly available to the global research community.
As a supporter of open science that pledged its support of I4OA in March of 2022, AIP Publishing is driven by the principle of science by all, for all — and the heartfelt belief that the benefits of scientific advance should be made readily available to make the greatest worldwide impact.
In the 2023 I4OA Hall of Fame writeup, I4OA goes into great detail sharing the results of its efforts to track the openness of abstracts for different publishers over time. Specifically, they highlighted those publishers who took strides on that front in 2023. AIP Publishing, with 95% of its abstracts now open, was among those mentioned.
