The Lancet, an independent general medical journal, has announced that its first app for iPad is now available on the App Store. The Lancet App is an innovative article-based navigation app that makes it easier for healthcare professionals (HCPs) to find the information they need quickly and efficiently from the convenience of their iPad.
The app gives subscribers convenient access to the latest articles published in The Lancet, The Lancet Oncology, The Lancet Neurology and The Lancet Infectious Diseases. Articles are sent to users and categorised by topic for an easy, at-a-glance overview. Users can annotate articles, share them with colleagues and create alerts and bookmark favourites. They can also search the journal database from the app and download articles for immediate or future use, either on or offline.
The Lancet App is one of many apps Elsevier is developing for healthcare professionals. It is available for free from the App Store on iPad or at http://www.itunes.com/appstore. Selected content is available for all viewers. Subscribers to The Lancet have access to all published content.
