The Materials Research Society in partnership with the Cambridge University Press has announced the launch of MRS Advances, a peer-reviewed and online-only multidisciplinary journal devoted to publishing new and emerging materials science.
The journal is designed to reflect the way materials researchers work, write, publish, and share their results. Drawing upon content to be presented at MRS Meetings, the journal's editorial leadership will be selective to ensure only high-quality research is offered to the worldwide community. MRS Advances will be a full-color publication with articles appearing in advance of issue compilation on Cambridge Journals Online (CJO) via FirstView publication.
MRS Advances will allow MRS to respond to author and reader demand for the latest results in materials research while adding a complementary title to the Society's well-established publishing program. Authors will benefit from rapid peer review, speed of publication, and immediate global distribution on Cambridge's proprietary CJO platform, alongside the MRS portfolio of other world-class publications, including MRS Bulletin, Journal of Materials Research, MRS Communications, and MRS Energy & Sustainability—A Review Journal. MRS Advances' initial articles will begin to publish in December 2015 with its first issue scheduled for January 2016.
