The Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia accredits BMJ Best Practice and BMJ Learning -

The Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from Occupied Territories, Health, Labour and Social Affairs of Georgia and healthcare knowledge provider BMJ have announced that BMJ Best Practice, a clinical decision support tool, and BMJ Learning, an online learning platform, have been accredited for the purposes of CME and CPD.

BMJ has been instrumental in shaping new continuous medical education (CME) and continuous professional development (CPD) systems to help health professionals deliver the very best care to their patients. The CME and CPD credits earned by doctors for using BMJ Best Practice and BMJ Learning will now be formally recognised by the Ministry and other healthcare organisations across Georgia.

The new system is the result of a unique collaboration between BMJ and the Ministry which has already helped thousands of Georgian health professionals. The collaboration provides health professionals with access to BMJ Best Practice and BMJ Learning as part of a Clinical Decision Support (CDS) Training Initiative to improve the detection, diagnosis and management of infectious diseases. BMJ's CDS Training Inititiave, supported by the National Centre for Diseases Control and Ministry has been integral to the development and approval of a system for Continuous Medical and Professional Development.

The government decree marks the next step in Georgia's ambitious plans for improving its healthcare systems and infrastructure, improving the use of health resources, and the quality of healthcare services.
