The Natural History Museum selects Ex Libris Alma and Primo for next-generation resource management services -

Library automation solutions provider Ex Libris Group has announced that London's Natural History Museum has selected Ex Libris Alma for next-generation resource management services and Ex Libris Primo for unified resource discovery and delivery. These tightly integrated solutions will support the museum's strategic goal of providing a pioneering digital library of the future.

The Natural History Museum houses a public library that is used by the museum's own scientists, visiting researchers, and members of the public. Given the large number of digital resources that it holds, a number which is constantly growing due to their digitisation project, the library sought a solution that would enable staff to manage all resource types through unified processes and workflows.

An additional requirement was that users be able to access all of the library's collections through a single search interface, a feature that would enable users to find relevant resources rapidly. The museum's detailed market analysis showed that Alma and Primo, unifying resource management and discovery in a seamless experience for staff and users, would best meet the library's requirements.
