Thieme continues to expand open access portfolio -

Scientific and medical publisher Thieme Medical Publishers, Inc. continues to expand its open access portfolio. Since the summer of 2011, Thieme founded seven new titles. The most recent addition is the journal International Archives of Otorhinolaryngology, which Thieme began publishing as of October 1, 2013. With a series of dedicated newsletters for individual disciplines launched during this year’s Open Access Week, Thieme updates readers on the latest open access content.

Over the past two years, Thieme has founded seven journals dedicated entirely to open access content, with four more currently in preparation. The new titles include journals such as Metabolism and Nutrition in Oncology (MNO) and Endoscopy International Open, which supports the long established gastroenterological flagship journal Endoscopy. Most recently, Thieme added the journal International Archives of Otorhinolaryngology in October.

Thieme’s numerous marketing activities ensure that publisher’s open access portfolio reaches a wide audience. Newsletters and Facebook posts update readers in regular intervals on all the latest open access articles accessible via Thieme Connect. The first newsletters were sent out during the recently celebrated international Open Access Week.

Thieme has been offering print authors an additional online publication option since 2006. Authors can choose to publish articles that appear in traditional Thieme print journals on the platform www.thieme-connect.de/ejournals, making them freely and immediately available online upon publication of the print issue.
