Thieme launches new journal - Journal of Wrist Surgery -

Scientific and medical publisher Thieme Publishing Group has announced the publication of the first issue of the Journal of Wrist Surgery (JWS). JWS brings together all aspects of wrist surgery and small bone surgery of the hand, and will serve hand surgeons, orthopaedic trauma surgeons, and plastic and reconstructive surgeons as a key reference. Dr. David Slutsky, an internationally recognised, Board Certified Hand Surgeon and active Member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, serves as Editor-in-Chief of the journal.

The journal publishes both primary and peer-review articles, and places center stage a range of issues relating to the investigation and treatment of disorders and injuries of the wrist. It also offers the nouvelle concept of peer-reviewed surgical videos, which will all be cited in Index Medicus. The journal covers all details on emerging surgical techniques and new technologies with its special focus sections, periodic perspective essays, case reports and letters to the editor. All these various elements reflect the cutting-edge nature of JWS, which distills the ever-increasing knowledge surrounding the pathologies of the wrist joint - ensuring readers are always at the forefront of this exciting medical arena.

JWS is available in print and online. Articles published ahead of print are available via the eFirst service on the Thieme E-Journals platform. All members of the European Wrist Arthroscopy Society will receive the journal for free in 2012 thanks to the support of Small Bone Innovations, Inc. and NEWCLIP Technics. From 2013, the journal will increase in frequency to 4 issues per year.
