Thieme Medical Publishers has announced that it will begin publishing the Journal of Brachial Plexus and Peripheral Nerve Injury (JBPPNI), effective June 2014. Previously published by the open access publisher BioMed Central and now in its ninth volume, the journal is an online only, open access journal publishing high quality clinical and research articles in the field of peripheral nerve surgery.
One of the journal's main goals is to foster interdisciplinary discussions that will generate new ideas and techniques for improved management of peripheral nerve injuries. Thieme's expertise in related specialties such as neurology, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, wrist surgery, and more will serve to further stimulate the exchange of ideas and clinical research findings and to connect experts in the field.
Dr. Jörg Bahm, is Chief Surgeon in the Reconstructive Microsurgery Unit of the Franziskushospital in Aachen (Germany) and a Consultant for peripheral nerves in the Orthopaedic Department of the Erasme University Hospital in Brussels (Belgium), serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal.
All articles published in JBPPNI are available via Thieme's open access platform Thieme Open. The journal is currently indexed in Cases Database, Citebase, DOAJ, Google Scholar, Index Copernicus, OAIster, PubMed, PubMed Central, SCImago, Scirus, Scopus, SOCOLAR, and Zetoc.
