Thieme publishes ‘Pocket Atlas of Spine Surgery’ -

STM publisher Thieme Publishing Group, Germany, has announced the publication of the ‘Pocket Atlas of Spine Surgery.’

According to the National Center for Health Statistics, nearly one million spinal surgeries are performed each year in the US alone. New surgeons in the neurosurgery and orthopaedic surgery specialties are constantly being trained to meet the significant demands of back pain and other spine pathologies.

This small portable book is authored by Dr. Kern Singh, a Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago Illinois, and Dr. Alexander R. Vaccaro, Professor of Orthopedic and Neurosurgery at The Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It specifically addresses the anatomy, technique, and indications of common approaches to the spine. Operative photos with unique anatomical overlays are provided for each step in a surgical procedure and illustrate for the reader critical landmarks in the operative site. The procedures included represent those most encountered in a typical spine surgery practice.

Covering both open and minimally invasive techniques, this book will serve as a valuable resource to the field of spine surgery, particularly for those who have limited time for reading large texts, and it will facilitate quick reviews prior to surgery.
