Thieme publishes visually-driven single volume atlas focusing on the nerves of the human brain -

STM publisher Thieme Publishing Group, Germany, has published a visually-driven single volume Atlas that incorporates detailed descriptions of the anatomy and function of cranial nerves with practical coverage of clinical concepts for the assessment and differential diagnosis of cranial nerve dysfunction.

The atlas 'Cranial Nerves: Anatomy, Pathology, Imaging' is claimed to be the only atlas in this field that combines normal anatomy with case studies and pathology illustrated with modern cross-sectional techniques. It skillfully combines the surgical perspective of an experienced neurosurgeon and the imaging knowledge of talented neuroradiologists to provide a complete picture of complex cranial nerve anatomy and pathology.

The publication commences with a general introduction. Each subsequent chapter details the functional anatomy and pathology of the 12 cranial nerves, complete with tables, bullet point summaries and numerous illustrations highlighting case studies. More than 300 high-quality images and state-of-the art CT and MR images depict key anatomic concepts and pathologic findings. The authors use tables to synthesise key information related to anatomy, function, pathology, and imaging.
