Thomson Innovation enhances intellectual property research, includes full-text patent coverage from Australia -

The Intellectual Property & Science business of Thomson Reuters has announced the addition of full-text patent records from the patent office of IP Australia to Thomson Innovation, a patent intelligence and collaboration platform.

Thomson Innovation now includes full-text Australian innovation (petty) patents and granted patents, as well as applications, allowing IP professionals to make more informed filing decisions, identify potential partners and monitor the innovation landscape ‘Down Under.’ The editorially enhanced content in Derwent World Patents Index (DWPISM) and its integration with Thomson Innovation offers a single platform to easily search patent records from Australia, alongside those from Japan, Korea and China (in English).

The addition of Australian content expands Thomson Innovation’s coverage beyond the recently added English-translated patent records from Vietnam and Thailand, as well as Malaysian full-text patents. Thomson Reuters will continue to grow patent coverage in 2013 with future additions.

Thomson Innovation claims to be the only patent research platform that enables users to search global patents, scientific literature, and business and news information from a single source. Coupled with Derwent World Patents Index, Thomson Innovation includes English-language abstracts and titles, making it easier for researchers to quickly find the information they need to make informed decisions.
