Thomson Reuters' Academic Reputation Survey for 2011 generates highest-ever global response rate -

Business information provider Thomson Reuters, US, has announced the completion of its Academic Reputation Survey for 2011, achieving more than 17,500 responses from professional scholars in 137 countries. The survey claims to be the largest of its kind ever undertaken by Thomson Reuters and continues to grow in size, gaining a 31 percent increase in responses compared to last year's survey.

Created with the input of numerous academic and scholarly experts, the Academic Reputation Survey aims to be the most comprehensive snapshot of academics' opinion of the world's universities. The assessments gathered through the survey will be combined with other key variables to form a component of Thomson Reuters Institutional Profiles, and will also inform the Times Higher Education's World University Rankings, released later this year.

Thomson Reuters Institutional Profiles is a web-based resource that provides a comprehensive view of nearly 500 of the world's leading academic research institutions. It is part of the research analytics suite of solutions provided by Thomson Reuters that supports strategic decision making and the evaluation and management of research.
