Information solutions provider Thomson Scientific, part of Thomson Corporation, US, has announced that it is seeking applicants from North America for the 2008 Roger K. Summit Scholarship. The winner will be announced at the Special Libraries Association annual conference, to be held in Seattle in June.
This scholarship of $5,000 is given annually to a promising graduate student in library and information sciences. All applications are due by April 30, 2008. Applications are available at http://gep.dialog.com/scholarship/application.shtml .
The Roger K. Summit Scholarship is awarded twice annually, one each to a graduate student enrolled in an accredited library or information sciences programme in the Americas and one in Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and Africa. A panel of local information professionals selects the regional winner after reviewing academic achievement, faculty recommendations, interest in electronic information services and proficiency using Dialog online services.
