Information solutions provider Thomson Scientific, part of Thomson Corporation, US, has announced their continued sponsorship of the Australia and New Zealand Chapter of the Special Library Association's (SLA) Informational Professional of the Year Award, and joined chapter leaders in calling for nominations. The announcement was made during the recently concluded VALA2008 14th Biennial Conference and Exhibition in Melbourne, Australia.
The award, sponsored by Thomson Scientific since 2005, is open to all information professionals in Australia and New Zealand. All nominations should be emailed to Sonya Donoghue, Past President of the SLA Australia and New Zealand Chapter, at s.donoghue@auckland.ac.nz. The deadline for submitting nominations is May 1, 2008. Individuals may nominate themselves or others.
A special panel of SLA Australia and New Zealand Chapter board members and regional Thomson Scientific management will select the winner, who will be announced at the SLA Annual Conference, June 2008, in Seattle. The recipient of the 2008 award will receive a prize of AUD 2,000.
