Information services provider Thomson Reuters, US, has announced that it will continue to supply the Average Wholesale Price (AWP) of drugs in its RED BOOK. The announcement follows some vendors’ decision to stop publishing the AWP of drugs in 2011.
Thomson’s RED BOOK Drug References provide electronic access to current pricing and product information on prescription and over-the-counter drugs, nutraceuticals, bulk chemicals and non-drug items. They are claimed to be the oldest source of drug pricing information in the US. In addition to AWP, the RED BOOk contains Wholesale Acquisition Cost (WAC), Direct Price (DP), Suggested Retail Price (SRP) and Federal Upper Limit (FUL).
The RED BOOK is updated continuously.
