Transactions of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering names new Co-Editors-in-Chief -

Transactions of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering (TCSME) and its publisher, Canadian Science Publishing, have announced the appointment of Dr. Aleksander Czekanski and Dr. Jerzy Maciej Floryan as the new Co-Editors-in-Chief. After six years of dedicated service as Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Marius Paraschivoiu will continue his involvement with TCSME as a Consulting Editor.

Dr. Jerzy Maciej Floryan is a Professor in the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Department at Western University. He has held several visiting appointments at universities internationally and is a past president of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Floryan’s research focuses on the intersection of fluid mechanics and applied mathematics, utilizing modern mathematical methods, algorithms, and simulations to address engineering problems. He has been recognized with numerous international and Canadian awards.

Dr. Aleksander Czekanski is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and serves as co-Director of the Manufacturing Technology and Entrepreneurship Centre at York University. A past president of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Czekanski brings over ten years of industry experience in design engineering and the automotive sector. His current research interests include computational and experimental solid mechanics, additive manufacturing, and artificial intelligence. Dr. Czekanski has also received several awards for excellence in research and teaching throughout his academic career.

The TCSME Editorial Board and Canadian Science Publishing welcomes Dr. Czekanski and Dr. Floryan to their new roles. Their combined expertise and leadership are expected to further advance the journal and support its community.
