TU Delft OPEN Publishing and IOS Press have announced a partnership aimed at co-publishing books and making them available through Open Access. The collaboration, which commenced on June 1, 2023, marks a significant step in promoting open and accessible scholarly literature. One of the first fruits of this partnership is the release of the book titled 'The Fluid Dynamic Basis for Actuator Disc and Rotor Theories: Revised Second Edition,' which is now accessible through the TU Delft Open Access catalog and IOS Press Ebooks.
Under this partnership, books published by IOS Press from June 1, 2023, featuring TU Delft authors as lead authors, co-authors, or editors-in-chief will be eligible for Open Access funding from TU Delft OPEN Publishing, subject to specific conditions. The default Open Access license for these works will be Creative Commons CC BY or CC BY-NC. Additionally, IOS Press will also publish printed editions of these books.
The partnership between TU Delft OPEN Publishing and IOS Press will initially run from June 1, 2023, to August 1, 2024, with the option to extend based on a joint evaluation.
Open Access publishing aligns with TU Delft's strategic objectives and is among the array of resources and services offered by TU Delft Library to support the academic community. TU Delft OPEN Publishing aims to encourage more collaborations and successful experiences that will pave the way for other publishers in diverse disciplines to embrace open access initiatives.
