Unbound Medicine and American Academy of Pediatrics launch Mobile Bright Futures -

Knowledge management solutions provider Unbound Medicine, US, and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the leading professional organisation representing healthcare professionals caring for infants, children and adolescents, have announced the launch of Bright Futures for Mobile Devices. Clinicians and trainees will now be able to access the AAP's comprehensive and practical pediatric health guidelines directly on their PDA or smartphone.

Bright Futures for Mobile Devices offers the AAP's authoritative guidelines for pediatric well care, including specific recommendations on immunisations, routine health screenings, and anticipatory guidance. It includes both the third edition of Bright Futures Guidelines for Health Supervision of Infants, Children and Adolescents and the Bright Futures Pocket Guide. More than 50 experts in pediatrics, family medicine, public health, dentistry and mental health contributed to content that was reviewed by 1,000 health professionals, parents, and child advocates. The Bright Futures project was initiated in 1990 and is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration's (HRSA) Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB).

Using Bright Futures for Mobile Devices, clinicians can link directly from age-based visit summaries in the Pocket Guide to comprehensive strategies for anticipatory guidance and preventive care. Unbound Medicine's platform includes intuitive navigation tools, links to related information and bookmark capability and is compatible with all current smartphones and handheld devices using the Windows Mobile or Palm operating systems.
