Unbound Medicine, a US-based provider of knowledge management solutions for the healthcare industry, has announced new mobile platforms and resources at Pediatric Care Online (PCO). PCO is now available as a downloadable native application for iPad and Windows Phone. Simultaneously, important new clinical information was added to PCO's extensive library of references and tools.
Designed by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) to meet the clinical information needs of practicing pediatricians and pediatric residents, PCO is powered by Unbound Medicine's end-to-end digital publishing platform.
Since its launch in 2008, PCO has provided must-have clinical information for busy pediatricians who consult it via web or smartphone to find the latest information about diseases and drugs, to keep abreast of the latest policies and news from the AAP, or to access useful tools and patient education sheets. The regularly updated resources at PCO have continued to expand the original list based on the AAP Textbook of Pediatric Care, a pediatric drug database, Red Book, and Bright Futures. PCO has continually evolved, expanding platform support and features on a regular basis.
Content additions across all platforms (Web, iOS, Android, BlackBerry, and Windows Phone) include access to AAP webinars, the newly published Performing Preventive Services - part of the AAP's Bright Futures initiative, and an extensive collection of tools and parent handouts on the subject of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) that facilitates assessment and simplifies parent/patient education by caregivers.
