Universidad de las Américas Puebla adopts Ex Libris Alma, Primo, and Leganto to modernize library services -

Ex Libris has announced that Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLAP) has selected Alma, Alma Digital, Primo, and Leganto to support the institution’s library operations and enhance digital resource management. The decision follows more than a decade of UDLAP’s use of Aleph and reflects the university’s move toward a more integrated and data-driven library environment.

Established in 1940 and celebrating its 85th anniversary, UDLAP is recognized as one of Mexico’s leading private universities, offering programs across arts and humanities, sciences, social sciences, engineering, and business. Its library transition to Alma and Primo supports the institution’s focus on innovation and accessibility in academic resources.

The migration to Alma was informed by live demonstrations of its AI-driven capabilities and consultation with university stakeholders. The platform’s architecture, security framework, and seamless integration with campus systems were key factors in the selection decision.

The deployment includes Alma Digital for electronic collections and Leganto for reading-list management, enabling students and faculty to access bibliographies and digital materials through a single interface.

With this adoption, UDLAP aims to enhance library service efficiency and user experience while continuing its long-term collaboration with Ex Libris to advance academic excellence through technology-enabled library solutions.
