University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC), US, has signed a new five-year agreement with Healthcare solutions provider Thomson Healthcare, part of Thomson Corporation, US, for its comparative database and benchmarking tool, ACTION-OI.
The new contract builds on a 10-year relationship between the two organisations and provides product continuity for UHC members. Formed in 1984, the UHC is an alliance of 97 academic medical centers and 153 of their affiliated hospitals representing nearly 90 percent of non-profit academic medical centers in the US. UHC seeks to advance knowledge, foster collaboration, and promote change to help members succeed in their respective markets.
