In celebration of Open Access Week, University Libraries at the University of Oklahoma (OU), in collaboration with the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education, has launched a new open-access journal, Single Case in the Social Sciences (SCSS). This biannual online publication aims to expand scholarly resources in applied behavior analysis, counseling, education, psychology, social work, and related fields. The journal publishes original single-case studies, systematic reviews, and methods articles, furthering OU Libraries’ commitment to accessible, wide-ranging academic resources.
The inaugural issue, titled "Using Brief Experimental Analysis to Compare the Effects of Reading Comprehension Interventions with a Middle School Student," was released earlier this month. This release aligns with Open Access Week, celebrated from October 21-25, themed “Community over Commercialization,” which emphasizes how open access can transform scholarly communication by prioritizing accessibility.
Throughout the week, University Libraries are hosting interactive events, including a yarn craft session, a spin-the-wheel game, and a café discussion, celebrating the impact of open access on the academic community.
