Library technology solutions provider SirsiDynix, US, has announced that the University Library of Southern Denmark (Syddansk Universitetsbibliotek or SDUB) is now using SirsiDynix Symphony to serve its diverse community needs. The library is used by students and researchers at the University of Southern Denmark as well as members of the local and international community. The library selected Symphony to replace their SirsiDynix Horizon integrated library system, becoming the first library in Denmark to adopt the flagship integrated library system from SirsiDynix.
Staff at SDUB selected Symphony following a detailed and thorough evaluation over a period of two years. Positive references from other universities using Symphony in Sweden and in the UK were a deciding factor.
The University currently serves 20,000 students and 2,000 researchers across Denmark in Odense, Kolding, Esbjerg, Sønderborg, Slagelse and Copenhagen, and is home to 1.6 million volumes and a number of special collections, including several important jazz collections. The University Library of Southern Denmark is a public library - its facilities can be used by everyone.
