Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, has announced that the University of Calgary has selected the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform and Primo® discovery and delivery solution. Alma will be replacing the SirsiDynix Symphony® integrated library system.
The University of Calgary's Libraries and Cultural Resources (LCR), which operates seven libraries on campus and across the city, used a rigorous evaluation process to identify a system that applies the latest technologies and is built on a cloud-based, software-as-a-solution (SaaS) platform with automatic updates and streamlined workflows. Alma and Primo were the solutions of choice.
The Alma platform will enable the university to optimise library management processes and will provide the analytics that are essential for making increasingly complex decisions. Primo will facilitate users' access to the University of Calgary's high-quality resources through its customizable interface, comprehensive search capabilities, and personalized search results. In addition, the many configuration options offered by Primo will enable Calgary to meet the needs of its partners in the Southern Alberta Integrated Libraries (SAIL) consortium.
