University of Economics in Slovakia opts for EBSCO Discovery Service to broaden search experience for researchers -

EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) has announced that the University of Economics in Bratislava, Slovakia, has implemented EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) as its discovery tool. The university was looking to deliver the best possible search for its students and after evaluating discovery services over the past two years, it decided to implement EDS due to its relevancy ranking and vast amount of content.

As the university evaluated discovery service options, it found many advantages with EDS. When conducting comparative searches, relevant and current records were consistently at the top of the result list with EDS. The subject indexes also helped to maximize the value of its full suite of library resources. The university has been a long-term subscriber to EBSCO databases and the inclusion of subject indexes allows for leveraging the controlled vocabularies associated with important indexes to which they subscribe. The university also benefits from EBSCO’s collaboration with ILS vendor, Cosmotron, which enables the inclusion of its OPAC ARL from Cosmotron.

EBSCO Discovery Service creates a unified, customized index of an institution's information resources, and an easy, yet powerful means of accessing all of that content from a single search box-searching made even more powerful because of the quality of its relevance and value ranking technology.
