The University of Ghana Library System has adopted EBSCO FOLIO, an open-source Library Services Platform supported by EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO). The platform aims to modernize back-office operations and support the university’s technology-driven research and teaching environment.
After an evaluation process, the library chose EBSCO FOLIO for its vendor-neutral, API-driven design. This design integrates analytics, research data workflows, and future-ready campus systems. The system is expected to enable more efficient resource management and adaptability to institutional needs.
EBSCO FOLIO is supported by a global community of more than 280 libraries, including a growing number in Africa. The University of Ghana will benefit from opportunities for collaboration and shared innovation within this network, strengthening regional engagement in library technology.
