University of Leeds selects Ex Libris Alma and Primo solutions to improve efficiency and decision-making -

Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, has announced that the University of Leeds has selected the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform and Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery solution to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and support decision-making. Alma and Primo will replace the Innovative Sierra software.

The University Library decided that the time had come to move to a cloud-based SaaS architecture and reduce costs. As part of this process, the university carried out a competitive evaluation of library management systems and their functionality and selected the Ex Libris Alma and Primo solutions.

Leeds University Library has a proven track record of implementing systems that support and streamline its processes. Alma and Primo both offer excellent reporting functionality that directly addresses the strategic objective of managing collections more efficiently and will improve decision-making. Furthermore, a more robust relationship between the library management system and resource discovery layer will contribute to operational efficiency by improving the handling of acquisitions and reducing manual processes and workarounds.
