Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, has announced that the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP) has selected the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform, Primo® discovery and delivery solution, and LegantoTM course resource list tool.
The UNCP vision is to create the university library of the future, one that blends a unified, integrated library system with powerful search technologies and a superior, affordable student experience. To this end, UNCP will use the Alma platform for managing library resources, the Primo solution for providing discovery and searching capabilities, and the Leganto tool to support the creation, dissemination, and use of course resource lists.
Through this combination of Ex Libris solutions, the university looks forward to maximising the use of the library’s collections, both physical and electronic; exposing students to the world of scholarly publications; and facilitating the compilation and management of course resource lists by faculty members.
Deploying a true enterprise solution, UNCP will integrate its systems with other campus systems, including purchasing, student accounts, and the learning management system. This integration will save UNCP time and money through the streamlining of processes at the university level. Furthermore, the Leganto resource list solution will draw attention to resources that the library owns and will enable each student to save hundreds of dollars on textbooks and other materials.
