University of Pavia, Italy, extends partnership with Ex Libris, with the implementation of Alma and Primo -

The University of Pavia in Italy has decided to extend its long-standing partnership with Ex Libris, part of Clarivate, by implementing Alma and Primo as their library management and discovery systems.

Building on their history of using Ex Libris SFX, the University of Pavia has chosen to transition to Alma as their electronic library management system, accompanied by Primo for their discovery needs. By combining the library services and electronic resource management (ERM) capabilities of Alma with the patron-facing search and discovery interface of Primo, the university aims to provide a comprehensive library experience to their students and users across all types of data, including physical, electronic, and digital resources. This implementation will also enhance the efficiency and productivity of librarians at the University of Pavia.

Alma, a cloud-based library services platform, will serve as the backbone of the library operations, augmenting their existing services and capabilities. With Alma's Analytics, the university will have access to extensive reporting opportunities, enabling them to gain valuable insights into their library operations. Alma also facilitates the management of trials, licenses, vendor information, and the entire lifecycle of electronic resources. The platform is designed to streamline workflows and provide seamless access to library materials, offering flexible options for resource management support from selection to activation, including collection analysis and analytics tools to aid informed decision-making.

Primo, a discovery and delivery platform, will provide students and patrons of the University of Pavia with a unified interface for searching, discovering, and accessing library resources. With its intuitive search interface and relevance ranking algorithms, Primo ensures that users can quickly locate the materials they need, regardless of the format or location.

This collaboration between the University of Pavia and Ex Libris reaffirms their commitment to enhancing library efficiency and maximizing the visibility of the library's collection. By leveraging the capabilities of Alma and Primo, the University of Pavia aims to support their librarians in providing seamless access to a wide range of resources.
