University of Roehampton selects OCLC’s library software -

The University of Roehampton has selected library cooperative OCLC to provide a new software platform for its library services. The deal has been valued at £240,000 and involves the provision of an integrated suite of software to support key management functions.

It will run on a cloud hosted, software-as-a-service architecture managed by the supplier, and use open standards and APIs to meet a key criteria in enabling it to scale up.

Sheffield based OCLC provides technology services, including the Worldshare Management Services software, as part of a wider portfolio that extends to research and community programmes. Its team includes technologists, librarians and researchers.

Earlier in December it announced a deal to provide the software to University College Birmingham for integration with its existing library systems.
