Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, has announced that the University of Waikato, in Hamilton, New Zealand, has gone live with the Ex Libris Alma® library management service and the Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery solution. Alma replaces the university library's Voyager® integrated library system.
Waikato sought a truly cloud-based, software-as-a-service platform that provides streamlined workflows for the acquisition and management of both print and electronic resources. An early adopter of the ProQuest Intota library services platform, Waikato chose the combination of Alma and Primo as the next step in library automation.
Key to Waikato's decision was the desire to put more emphasis on value-added tasks rather than administrative ones. The university was especially impressed with the new Primo interface.
