UpToDate receives 2014 eHealthcare Leadership Award for Best Health/Healthcare Content -

Healthcare information provider Wolters Kluwer Health has announced that UpToDate was recognized as a 2014 eHealthcare Leadership Award Winner in the Best Health/Healthcare Content website category. UpToDate was recognised for its comprehensive clinical content, unique format and user-friendly search capabilities.

There were more than 1,000 entries, from which 225 organisations were selected for recognition in 14 categories for outstanding websites and digital communications. A panel of 114 judges determined winners based on the criteria: a digital focus on enhanced visual interest, simplified site navigation, and ability to showcase key service lines.

The website, www.uptodate.com, was honoured in the Physician/Clinician-Focused Site class for its wide-ranging clinical content, featuring more than 10,000 clinical topics coupled with more than 9,000 recommendations for diagnosis and treatment in 22 specialties. Written, reviewed and continuously updated by more than 5,700 physicians, UpToDate is an evidence-based clinical decision support resource that is proven to change the way clinicians practice medicine.

The site's advanced and intuitive design allows doctors to quickly preview outlines of key topics or jump directly to a particular section in a topic to drill deeper.

The robust Search in Your Own Language capability streamlines searching for clinical information and graded recommendations by leveraging an advanced, patent-pending translation system for search terms in Simplified and Traditional Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish. Plus, the auto-complete feature of UpToDate search also predicts words or phrases in a clinician's native language.

The award echoes the recent 2014 UpToDate Subscriber Survey which found that 96 percent of UpToDate users worldwide trust UpToDate as an authoritative point-of-care clinical information resource.
