Online submission system provider Aries Systems Corporation, US, has announced a strategic agreement with scientific publisher Versita, Poland, to market its Editorial Manager in Central and Eastern Europe. Aries' Editorial Manager is claimed to be the most widely adopted online manuscript submission and tracking system for scholarly journals.
Under the terms of the agreement, Versita will offer Editorial Manager to scholarly journals in countries such as the former Soviet Union, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, the former Yugoslavia, and Albania. The agreement was concluded at the 2007 Frankfurt Book Fair, and the companies have embarked on a series of joint marketing and customer service initiatives.
Established in 2001, Versita is fast becoming the leading science publisher for Central and Eastern European science information. It publishes science journals based in Central and Eastern Europe, and many of these journals are now distributed worldwide by Springer. Besides publishing own journals, the company offers various services to other publishers, including full publishing services on behalf of research institutes, societies and universities from Central and Eastern Europe; epublishing services for journals owned by research institutes, societies and universities from Central and Eastern Europe; and emarketing services for other science publishers.
