Veterinary Research joins BioMed Central's portfolio of veterinary journals -

Journal Veterinary Research recently published its first open access (OA) articles with OA publisher BioMed Central. The journal is now the flagship title in BioMed Central's expanding cluster of veterinary journals.

Headed by Editor-in-Chief Michel Brémont, Veterinary Research publishes novel research and review articles with a focus on animal infection, covering the fields of bacteriology, parasitology, virology, immunology, prion disease, and epidemiology. With an Impact Factor of 3.58, the journal is ranked number one in the Veterinary Sciences category of the Journal Citation Report, and continues to be supported by the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA).

The first articles published with BioMed Central include research from Dr Sebastian Knapp et al on the overwintering mechanisms of the bluetongue virus, and from Dr Gonnie Nodelijk on the effectiveness of a breeding programme using resistant genotypes to obtain outbreak control in scrapie infected sheep. Veterinary practitioners and researchers can continue to look forward to many more articles from Veterinary Research that are now freely accessible worldwide.
