The Publications Division of the American Chemical Society (ACS) has announced the appointment of Dr. Vicki Wysocki, as the editor in chief of the Journal of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry. The journal is published by ACS on behalf of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS).
At Ohio State, Wysocki is a professor in the department of chemistry and biochemistry, the director of the Campus Chemical Instrument Center, the Ohio Eminent Scholar of Macromolecular Structure and Function, and an associate faculty director of the Foods for Health Research Initiative. Her research interests in mass spectrometry include gas-phase ion structure analysis, gas-phase fragmentation mechanisms, mass spectrometry-based structural biology, and proteomics and metabolomics. She has a rich history with both ASMS and ACS, serving as an associate editor for Analytical Chemistry from 2015 to 2022, and she was vice president of programs and the past president of ASMS from 2014 to 2020.
The Journal of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry is a monthly, peer-reviewed journal that covers all aspects of mass spectrometry, including fields of scientific inquiry in which mass spectrometry can play a role. The journal publishes research articles, as well as communications, application notes, and accounts and perspectives.
