WAGUL consortium selects Ingram Content Group to supply print and digital content for its member libraries -

Ingram Content Group Inc., US, has announced that it has been selected by the Western Australian Group of University Librarians Consortium as the sole library content supplier. WAGUL comprises the libraries of Western Australia's four publicly-funded universities: Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University and the University of Western Australia.

Ingram provides the WAGUL consortium with a single workflow for overseas and local acquisitions through its comprehensive OASIS platform. Libraries in the WAGUL consortium have access to more than 13 million print and e-book titles on OASIS, as well as use of Ingram's MyiLibrary e-book platform. Libraries that work with Ingram also benefit from the recent launch of its Lightning Source print-on-demand operation in Australia and its relationship with local library suppliers, including ALS Library Services.

The Western Australian Group of University Librarians met formally for the first time in October 1992 as a cooperative initiative of the four publicly funded universities in Western Australia. The University of Notre Dame Australia joined the group in 1999. The group currently meets four times each year, and is chaired by university librarians in an annual rotation, with executive support provided by the host library for that year. WAGUL serves to increase and enhance access to scholarly information between member institutions for their staff and students, facilitate the regular exchange of information, acting as a consortium, were appropriate, for the purchase of resources and services.
