The Wellcome Trust has announced new appointments to its Executive Board. Tim Livett will join Wellcome Trust as Chief Financial Officer and Ted Smith as Director of People and Development.
Tim Livett joins the Trust from Virgin Atlantic, where he has been Chief Financial Officer since 2004. He was previously European Chief Financial Officer for Hudson Highland Group Inc, a recruitment and search business. As CFO, he will be responsible for the Trust's financial management and for IT.
Ted Smith joins the Trust from the Medical Research Council, where he was Group HR Director. He previously worked at Glaxo Group Research, GlaxoWellcome and GSK, where he was Vice President HR for the information systems and research teams. He takes on a new role, responsible for thinking strategically about how best to lead, develop and recruit talent in pursuit of the Trust's mission, including both its staff and its wider research community.
