Interactive learning apps developer Modality, Inc., US, and STM publisher Elsevier, Netherlands, have announced that Wheater's Q&A Review of Histology & Basic Pathology App is now available on the App Store. The app is available for iPhone and iPod touch. It seeks to offer users custom quiz building and assessment tools for 563 USMLE-style questions, including 325 images, spanning 22 pertinent content areas with high quality, full-colour illustrations and photomicrographs.
The Wheater's app includes features such as pan and zoom of more than 300 images; custom quiz building tools to sort questions by content area; stats tracking to gauge overall performance, and detailed results for each content area; question timer to help establish pace; bookmarking to save difficult questions for future study; Question Browser mode for unscored review of all content sections; reference mode to display correct answers immediately for quick review; and shuffle setting to randomise question order within sections or with all sections.
