Publisher John Wiley & Sons, Inc., US, has announced enhancements to its Custom Select programme that enable Higher Education instructors to select content at the sub-chapter level to use in customised course materials.
Wiley Custom Select was first launched in 2009 to enable higher education instructors to create custom texts and course materials online from a collection of books and lab manuals across all three of Wiley's businesses, add their own materials, and select eBook or print delivery for their students.
With the latest customisation option, based on content in an XML format, instructors can select material and adjust the sequence at the chapter and sub-chapter levels. Faculty can also use the content editor to format editable text, rewrite sections, add and delete images, insert math notation and chemical structures, and then preview the results before submitting them for publication and sale to students. This toolset will initially be available for a group of lab manuals, primarily in chemistry, anatomy and physiology, and physics.
A demo on how to use Wiley Custom Select to create a customised text is available at www.wiley.com/college/wcsdemo.
