Wiley-Blackwell, the STM and scholarly publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc., US, has launched an online reference website offering free access to research articles and publications relating to influenza A H1N1. The complimentary content includes articles from the Cochrane Library, The Hospitalist and from Influenza and Other Respiratory Viruses, among other books and journals.
The current public health emergency and worldwide concern about the 'Swine Flu' virus prompted Wiley into publishing the site. In a bid to provide information and to foster understanding in the communities it serves, the publisher gathered the most relevant and updated content in the one central site, and launched the portal within days.
By enabling easy access to premium quality content on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and history of influenza, it is expected that medical practitioners, researchers and health professionals can now better understand and address the new H1N1 virus. It is also hoped that they will be better equipped to deal with seasonal flu. The free online content can be accessed at www.wiley.com/go/influenza.
