Wiley-Blackwell set to relaunch InfoPOEMs with InfoRetriever -

Wiley-Blackwell, the STM and scholarly publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc, US, has announced the relaunch of an enhanced version of its evidence-based medicine (EBM) content resource InfoPOEMs with InfoRetriever under the new name Essential Evidence Plus, in January 2008.

Essential Evidence Plus will continue to feature InfoPOEMs, the daily EBM content alerting service, and the EBM search application formerly known as InfoRetriever. The incorporation of two new content resources, EBM Guidelines and e-Essential Evidence, is expected to greatly augment the existing product features and content. Also, the integration will position the re-branded resource Essential Evidence Plus as a state-of-the-art content system facilitating EBM practice, increasing clinical efficiency at the point of care, and improving patient outcomes.

EBM Guidelines is produced by the Finnish Medical Society, Duodecim, and includes a concise, easy-to-use collection of more than 950 Practice Guidelines, over 3,000 Evidence Summaries, and more than 1,000 images.

Wiley-Blackwell will add e-Essential Evidence to the Essential Evidence Plus suite during the first quarter of 2008. This resource is an innovative general medical reference providing relevant medical content in a structured, evidence-based format for general practitioners, nurses and physician assistants providing first contact care.
