Wiley-Blackwell, the STM and scholarly publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc, US, has announced that it has been selected by the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB) to publish the latter's IUBMB Life. Edited by Angelo Azzi and William J. Whelan, IUBMB Life is the flagship journal of the IUBMB. Wiley-Blackwell began publishing IUBMB's other journal Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Education in January 2007.
Wiley-Blackwell will publish the journal in print and online via the company's online publishing platform, Wiley InterScience. IUBMB Life publishes novel and significant short articles, reviews and papers in the broadly defined fields of biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, and molecular medicine.
Under a separate agreement, Wiley-Blackwell and IUBMB will also develop books with an objective of co-publishing around 5-10 books per year in the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology. The global publisher will oversee the publishing services for these titles, including production, marketing, and distribution worldwide. Both parties will collaborate on acquisitions and editorial development.
